As December is just starting, Winter is coming hard on us! It makes it a perfect timing to list the 15 coldest big cities in the United States. So what cities should you avoid until the month of April so you don’t turn into a snowman? Here is the list!

Average monthly minimum temperature: 16.5 F

Chicago is not called the Windy City for nothing, it is definitely the coldest very big city in the United States!

 

  1. Syracuse, New York

Average monthly minimum temperature: 15.7 F

Unlike the Sicilian city its name is based on, Syracuse is freezing and the coldest big city in the state of New York.

If you planned on staying in Milwaukee for the winter, you’d better stay inside and enjoy its famous breweries to keep you warm.
